The cooperation between John Duncan and zeitkratzer is largely due to the outstanding support of Elke Moltrecht, music curator at Podewil Berlin, who also had the idea to bring them together as artists in residence at Podewil Berlin.
John Duncan ist mit seinen Performances, seiner Musik und den Audio-Installationen einem breiten Publikum bekannt. Seine CD Projekte "The Crackling" (1996, Komposition mit Max Springler), "Tap International" (2000) and "Palace of Mind" (2001, Komposition mit Juliana Stefani) gelten bei Kritikern wie Komponisten als Meilensteine des experimentellen Sound. Er arbeitete mit Leif Elggren, Jean-Louis Huhta, Zbigniew Karkowski, Edvard Graham Lewis, Francisco López, Jim O´Rourke, Elliott Sharp und C.M. von Hausswolff.
John Duncan is widely recognised for his work in performance, music, and audio installations. His CD projects "The Crackling" (1996, composed with Max Springler), "Tap International" (2000) and "Palace of Mind" (2001, composed with Juliana Stefani) are considered by critics and composers alike to be landmarks in experimental sound.
