The cooperation between John Duncan and zeitkratzer is largely due to the outstanding support of Elke Moltrecht, music curator at Podewil Berlin, who also had the idea to bring them together as artists in residence at Podewil Berlin.

Seine CD Projekte "The Crackling" (1996, Komposition mit Max Springler), "Tap International" (2000) and "Palace of Mind" (2001, Komposition mit Juliana Stefani) gelten bei Kritikern wie Komponisten als Meilensteine des experimentellen Sound. John Duncan is widely recognised for his work in performance, music, and audio installations.
